Ameta-Electrode LLC - a new production asset within the ARCUS Group

ARCUS Industrial Group was enriched with another production asset.
In March 2023, ARCUS Industrial Group completed the acquisition of the former “Svetlogorsk Welding Electrodes Plant”. The company, located in the Republic of Belarus, had been in bankruptcy for more than a year at the time of the acquisition. Once one of the largest manufacturers of welding products in the CIS, which produced the famous MONOLITH electrodes, had to be revived.
Specialists of Magnitogorsk Electrode Plant were engaged in the launch of the enterprise. In a short period of time they had to solve many technical and administrative tasks: to provide power supply to the plant, to connect to utility networks, to ensure the supply of raw materials. The most difficult was the personnel issue, since many employees found new jobs during the shutdown. Despite all the difficulties, the plant produced its first 100 tonnes of products by the end of April. After the plant started production and a new team was formed, the management decided to modernise some of the equipment and purchase new technological lines.
Initially, the Svetlogorsk production site will produce electrodes for welding carbon and low-alloy steels, such grades as:
- MR-3 Luxe
- ANO-21 Standard
- MK-46.00
- UONI 13/55
The famous MONOLITH electrode will be replaced by our own brand ULTRA. According to the specialists from the Svetlogorsk plant, the new brand is not only not inferior, but in some parameters even superior to the previous product. Thus, ULTRA brand shows a great performance at low currents and with weak (household) appliances. It allows for unstable voltage in the network and the presence of long cables and has minimal sticking of the electrode.
At the moment, the plant is launching a new automatic line for packaging welding electrodes in tubes, as well as commissioning of a new vacuum packaging line, which will make it possible to supply welding consumables with minimal moisture, thereby raising the quality of the product to a new level.
